Barbara Bell Christensen

Our precious mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, friend. Barbara (Bell) Christensen, went home to her loving Heavenly Father, on June 12th, 2018. She is now having a joyous reunion with the loved ones who have been waiting for her.
Mom was born in Lava Hot Springs, Idaho on Aug. 22, 1927. She had many wonderful memories of growing up in and around the Lava area.
She married Clifford Martin and they had 5 children from this marriage. They were later divorced.
She then met Marvin Christensen and they were married Sept. 2, 1961 and later sealed for all eternity in the Idaho Falls Temple.
Mom was a hard worker, beginning work at the Gun Plant in Pocatello during the war and then working for Kraft Foods for many years. She later ran a business for about 20 years and finally retiring to help Marvin with his trucking business for a few years.
Mom was a loving, caring woman to everyone she encountered. Never judgemental or saying an unkind word to anyone. She could see the good in all she met, regardless of their circumstances.
Mom was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin, a son, Mike and a daughter, Pennie. Mother and father, Vesta and Earl Bell. Sisters, Rhoda, June, Joyce, Kay, Neva, and a brother Leonard. Half-brothers, Wayne, George, and half-sister Connie.
Mom is survived by her children, Linda (Rick) Jones, Danny (Sharon) Martin and Tammy (Bob) Hensley. Sister, Judy, brothers, Terry (Rea) Bell and Richard (Sharon) Bell. Stepchildren, Marva, June, Rick, and Julie. She also has numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank One-Source Hospice for their excellent care. They were so fast and efficient setting up care for our mother on such short notice and with such a short time left to her.
Heaven has gained a beautiful angel who will be missed so very much here on earth. Until we meet again, our dear sweet mother.
A viewing will be held Thursday June 21st 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel, 510 N. 12th Ave. Pocatello, Idaho.
Funeral services will be held at the Tyhee Stake Center, 12146 West Tyhee Road, Friday June 22nd 2018 at 11:00 am with a viewing one hour prior to the services. Interment will be at 3:00 pm in the Lava Hot Springs, Idaho, Cemetery.
