Christopher Scott Mangelson, 48, of Rexburg, passed away on July 10, 2020 surrounded by his loving family in Idaho Falls. Chris was born in Downey, Idaho to Maynard and Sandra Mangelson on Nov. 2, 1971.
He graduated from Marsh Valley High School. He served an honorable mission in Japan. He married Mira Aninon, the love of his life, on May 17, 2008 in Idaho Falls. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Business from Idaho State University. He worked in the Market Research Industry for over 20 years. He started many market research phone centers from the ground up and trained many employees. His biggest accomplishment in the industry was starting Western Watts Philippines (now called Daynata) in 2003. He lived in the Philippines for 4 years where he met his wife. He is remembered by many as a gentle giant and a man with a big heart. He was very generous with both his time and money. Anyone who witnessed his Chris Farley impersonation loved it and remembers it fondly. He will always be remembered for his big smile, compassion, and love for everyone, especially for his family. He will be missed by so many.
He is preceded in death by his father, Maynard and his brother Jeff. He is survived by his wife, Mira; his son Jarom; his children from previous marriage, Caleb and Aarika; his mother, Sandra; his siblings, Sean and Selina, Sharon, Spencer and Melanie, and Travis.
A graveside service in Lava Hot Springs, Idaho is planned on July 15, 2020 for immediate family only.
