Cornelius "Cor" Adrianus Hofman

Cornelius Adrianus Hofman passed away on Monday, January 2, 2017.
Cor began his 84-year journey in Rotterdam, Holland, where he was born to John and Klasina Hofman. At the age of five, he immigrated to the United States of America with his family.
Cor grew up in Salt Lake City. At age 16 he graduated from Granite High School, at age 19 he fittingly served as an office worker in the 191st Fighter Bomber Squadron of the US Air Force, and at 22 he served as a missionary in the Netherlands for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Cor received a PhD in Economics from the University of Utah and enjoyed a long career teaching economics at Idaho State University.
When he was 21, Cor tendered a one dollar bill for a 15-cent parfait at Paul’s Ice Cream and received one dollar in change from the young lady who waited on him. Three years later, Cor and Elaine were married. After Elaine passed away in 2007, Cor was blessed to fall in love again, and in 2008 he married Ruby Crandall.
Cor is survived by his wife, Ruby Hofman, his four children and their spouses, Cathie and Craig Clarke, John and Kathleen Hofman, Casie and David Jensen, Cory and Stacey Hofman, two more who he calls his children and their spouses, Bryan and Tamara Zaccardi, John and Kathryn Friese, three step-children and their spouses, Cindy and Bruce Oliphant, Karl and Genea Crandall, and Brian and Beth Crandall, forty-one grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren, and two sisters (Haddie and Anna).
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 7, 2017 at the Caldwell Park Chapel, with Bishop Rob Olcott, Pocatello Bonneville Park Ward, officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Restlawn Memorial Gardens. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel, 510 N. 12th Ave.
It is Cor’s wish that in lieu of flowers you take your family to dinner.
