David E. Allen

David Edward Allen, 71, passed away on December 31, 2014. Born June 7,1943 in Rupert Idaho to Sterling Edward and Nina Cleone Allen. Following the death of his father in 1950, they moved to Twin Falls where Cleone remarried Russell James Parr and eventually settled in Pocatello. Dave went on to graduate from Pocatello High School in 1961. He honorably served in the United States Air Force (1963-1967) including a tour of duty in the Philippines during Vietnam. Dave graduated from Idaho State University with a bachelor’s in Business Administration. It was soon after when he met the love of his life, Claudie Marie Willey and married her December 31,1975. A faithful Bengal Foundation Booster with countless hours spent at Holt Arena surveying new recruits, Dave was ISU’s greatest fan. He had great pride in watching his son play for the Highland Rams. He was equally proud that his daughter followed in his footsteps, playing the saxophone for the marching band. Dave was a long time employee for Pocatello Ready Mix as a concrete truck driver where he made lifelong friends. He was preceded in death by his father, half-sister, and brother. He is survived and cherished by his mother (Cleone), father (Russell), wife (Claudie), daughter Melanie and her friend Richard (grandchildren, Sean, Carson, Ethan, Addison), son Brian and wife Corina (grandchildren, Isaac and Ava), in-laws Bill and Nancy Willey, Ed and Eva Scribner, beloved nieces and nephews, and many friends. In honor of Dave’s love for ISU, donations can be made in his name to the ISU Football program in lieu of flowers. Please feel welcome to wear ISU school colors to the memorial service January 10th 11:00am at Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel (510 N.12th Ave.). A post memorial reception will be held at the Clarion Hotel 1399 Bench Rd with hors d’oeuvre’s being served.
