Doris Kay Peters Lucero, 78, of Pocatello, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2025 at home surrounded by her loving family.
Doris was born December 27,1946 in Aberdeen, Idaho to Albert and Susie Peters. She graduated from Pocatello High School and then attended beauty school. She married Otto Belville and had two beautiful daughters, Angela and Tamara.
She worked at Lamb Weston where she met her second husband and the love of her life, Victor Lucero. He brought two beautiful daughters, Pauline and Sharon, to their growing family. They then added their daughter, Hope, and Son, Vic II (Jay).
Doris was able to stay home with the children until they all started school. She then enjoyed working as a flagger in the construction field for multiple years before becoming a cashier at Waremart (Winco). She retired from Walmart after 15 years. She enjoyed being a cashier, seeing and talking to customers throughout her workday.
Doris and Vic were married almost 51 years. Doris loved going fishing, going to yard sales, making porcelain dolls, collecting M&M figures and other beautiful decorations. Her and Vic could always be found together. She enjoyed having family around for BBQs and other get togethers.
She is proceeded in death by her parents, Albert & Susie Peters, an older sister, Carolyn Piper, older brother, Arthur Peters, and a great grandson, Jorden Breen. She is survived by her loving husband, Vic, younger brother Kenneth (Jana) Peters, daughters Pauline (David) Lucero Schultz, Angela (Martin Hartle) Belville Christensen, Sharon (Rob DeWald) Lucero, Tamara Belville Noble, Hope (Jason) Lucero Snyder, son Vic II (Rachael) Lucero, 21 grandchildren (plus one on the way), and 27 great-grandchildren and more on the way.
She fought a battle with Alzheimer’s and Dementia before going to be with Jesus. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
