Doris Mae Shaffer was born on July 25, 1933, in Gray’s South Carolina to Percy and Alma Tuten. She was 1 of 13 children including her twin sister Dorothy McRae. She met the love of her life Kenneth Dee Shaffer at the age of nineteen, while he was deployed in Savannah Georgia for the US Navy, they were married on February 02, 1953. Then later sealed for all eternity in the Idaho Falls temple. They moved to Idaho where they made their forever home and raised their family.

Saydi (Keaton) Buffet, Gina (Nathan) Mouritsen Chase (Kimber) Olson Candis Smith, Mark (Taya) Murray Charity (Willie) Evans. Many Great grandchildren. She was very blessed to meet her Great Great Grandchildren.
Doris Lived an amazing life, with many adventures. She loved being outdoors camping, hunting, working in her yard, even just sitting on the porch swing watching the kids play. She loved going for long drives with Kenneth looking for animals. She could sit on the water’s edge for hours out fishing with everyone. She really enjoyed travelling with her family and friends, having cookouts at the Inkom house and everyone coming camping in the yard.
Living most of her adult life in Idaho, Doris never let go of her southern roots, she always made sure everyone had enough to eat and drink and was well taken care of, she loved being surrounded by all her family and friends. Her comfort place was sitting in her chair right next to Kenneth doing her word searches while he watched his old westerns.
Doris is preceded in death by her Husband of over 65 years, her two beloved sons Larry and Lee Shaffer, her parents, along with ten brothers and sisters, her in laws and adoring friends.
