Douglas Neil Hill passed away peacefully in Pocatello, Idaho on December 19th 2025, at the age of 90, with his wife Karen by his side. He was born on October 31st 1935, in Lava Hot Springs, to William Earl and Nada Hill. He had four brothers and six sisters. He graduated from Marsh Valley High School, where he met his future wife, Jean Christensen. Together, they had one daughter (Debbie Losee) and four sons (Vic, Craig, Doug, and Cliff).
Neil was always a hard worker from a young age. He started by working with his dad at the sawmill and delivering newspapers. He had many different jobs throughout his lifetime. Some of them were operating a hardware store, a butcher in a grocery store, various construction jobs, hauling milk, working at a bakery, and owning and operating a dairy and a farm.
Jean unexpectedly passed away at the age of 36. This took a toll on the young family, but he later met Karen Colson and her two children, Kimberly and Tracy. Neil and Karen were married on September 27th, 1985. He enjoyed the outdoors and spent a lot of time fishing, hunting, and camping with his family. Neil was well known for his friendly personality, and he loved to tease and joke. He will be greatly missed!
He is survived by his wife Karen, 6 children, 20 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his late wife Jean, son Craig, granddaughter Jamie Hill, grandson Dexter Hill, son-in-law Loren Losee, and great-grandson Cort Newlin.
