Earl Wayne Pixton

Earl Wayne Pixton, 76, passed away September 8, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. He was born and raised in Blackfoot, Idaho, the son of Wayne and Fern Pixton and brother to Joyce Pixton McKinlay.

Earl graduated from Blackfoot High School and later from Idaho State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. While attending ISU, Earl met the love of his life and wife of 53 years, Linda Herzog Pixton. Earl worked for Pixton Motor Company until 1967, at which time he moved to Pocatello and went to work for his father-in-law, Vern E. Herzog Sr. at Herzog Oil Co. In 1996, Earl founded Pixton Petroleum Products which he owned and operated along with several convenience stores until he retired in 2002.

Earl was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of LatterDay Saints and on May 21, 1991 was sealed for time and all eternity to his wife and family in the Idaho Falls Temple. Earl enjoyed his time spent serving on the University of Utah Medical Center foundation. He was an active member of the Intermountain Oil Marketers Association where he served on the board of directors. Earl was best known for his bigger-than-life personality and infectious smile. He enjoyed time spent with his family and friends at his summer home in Island Park or recreating at Lake Powell. Earl was always at home spending time with his family riding Harleys or traveling with his best friend and wife, Linda.

Earl is survived by his wife, Linda Pixton, and his three sons Mark Pixton, Todd Pixton (Jeanette), Brett Pixton (Michelle) and two daughters, Camille Ashcraft (Richard) and Amy Hawken (Jake). Earl leaves here on earth 17 grandchildren and is preceded in death by his father, mother and sister. The family will host a viewing at ManningWheatley Funeral Chapel, 510 North 12th Ave on Tuesday, September 12th 7:00-9:00pm. Services will be held on Wednesday, September 13th at 12:00pm in the Caldwell Park Ward LDS Chapel at 7th and East Lewis.
