Elaine Saurey

Elaine Anna Saurey passed away peacefully October 22, 2023 from natural causes. Elaine was born May 6, 1940 to Howard and Florence Bauman in Norristown PA. She was raised and educated in Pennsylvania, and graduated from Collegeville Trappe High in 1958. During High School she was a lead baton girl, and loved performing for the crowds. SHe married the love of her life Daniel C. Saurey on May 16, 1959 and their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple  April 12, 1960. Elaine and Dan were married for 52 years. 
They had 3 amazing children David C. Saurey, RIchard "Todd" Saurey and Jodi L. Harada. They had 6 beautiful grandchildren Breanna, Joshua, Danielle Gonzales (Matkin), Kalani Matkin, Nicholas and Colton Harada, and two beautiful great grandchildren Leila Elaine and Melia Rain Gonzales. 
Dan and Elaine purchased Bill's Food Town on Yellowstone in Chubbuck in 1974 and changed the name to Dan's Food Town, they loved being store owners. Dan worked in the back end of the store cutting meat and mom was up front being the social butterfly. It was the perfect place for her. 
Elaine's favorite activity and biggest joy was spending time with her family, and playing with her grandbabies and great grandbabies. They were her pride and joy, She also enjoyed decorating her home, any holiday there was always a new theme, She also enjoyed watching Hallmark Movies, crafts. Elaine was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, she was a great supporter of the Special Olympics. She will definitely be missed by many family friends with her beautiful smile and always so much love to give.
 
Elaine is survived by her brother David Bauman, Son Richard "Todd", Daughter Jodi Lynne Harada, Son-in-Law Brandon Harada, 8 Grandchildren Breanna, Joshua David, Danielle Reiko Gonzales (Matkin), Kalani Lee Matkin, Colton Ichiro Harada, Zachary Gonzales, and Christopher Evans, and 2 Great Grandchildren Leila Elaine Gonzales and Melia Rain Gonzales. She is preceded in death by her husband Daniel C Saurey, Son David C Saurey, and Sister Nancy Hansen.
VIewing will be held 6-8pm Friday October 27, 2023 at Manning Wheatley Funeral Home located at 510 N 12th Ave., Pocatello ID 83201. Funeral Services will be October 28, 2023 at the 41st Ward LDS church located at 1700 Kinghorn Pocatello ID 83202 with a viewing from 10:00-10:45 a.m. and funeral services beginning at 11 a.m.
