Frank Blaine Rash

Pocatello - Frank Blaine Rash, 62, longtime resident of Pocatello and currently Chairman of Pocatello/Chubbuck District 95 School Board, passed away early Sunday, February 5, 2012 following a courageous battle with lymph sarcoma.

He was born January 14, 1950, in Hailey, Idaho, a son of Bill and Elaine Mae Phillips Rash.

His family later moved to Glenns Ferry and then Rupert where he graduated from Minico High School. He came to Pocatello on scholarship to play football at ISU. He then went to work for Gem State Distributors where he became sales manager, retiring in 2009 after 36 years with the company.

On November 7, 1969, he married Shelley Corless, in Rupert, Idaho. They were later divorced. He married Terri Fielding on December 7, 1979 in the Idaho Falls Temple. They were later divorced.

He very much enjoyed playing golf. He also played for years in organized fast pitch softball as a pitcher participating in many state and national tournaments. He also coached many youth teams in various sports.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and the camping trips to Red Fish Lake.

He was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had served in may callings including; Bishop's counselor, Young Mens President, High Priest Group Leader and High Councilman.

He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.

Frank's family would like to extend a special thanks to the Doctor's and staff at Portneuf Medical and Cancer Center. The staff and nurse's at Creekside Hospice for their tender and loving care. The family would also like to extend a special thanks to Craig Christensen, Ryan Hancock and Leonard Bell.

Frank is survived by his father, Bill Rash, Pocatello, Idaho; 3 sons, Ryan (Kelli) Rash, Hillsboro, Oregon; Geoffery Rash and Billy Rash, both of Pocatello, Idaho; 2 daughters, Shonna Rash, Boca Raton, Florida; Hailey Rash (Lucas) Duncan, Pocatello, Idaho; 2 brothers, Robert (Susan) Rash, Pocatello, Idaho; Phillip (Julie) Rash, Provo, Utah; a sister, Delores (Terry) Walls, Twin Falls, Idaho; grandmother, Lona Rash, Boise, Idaho; 4 grandchildren, Carter, Cade, Adrianna and James. He was preceded in death by his mother, Elaine May Phillips Rash.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 11, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the L.D.S. Church at 300 E. Chapel St. with Bishop Michael Morrissey, of the Holman Ward officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel, 510 N. 12th Ave. and on Saturday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Inkom Cemetery at 2:30 p.m..
