JoAnn Edwards

JoAnn Edwards passed away on February 7, 2022. JoAnn wasborn on May 23, 1941, the oldest of 3 children born to Retta and Victor Porter. She has one brother Brent (Jolene) Porter and one sister Kay (Lew) Nelson. JoAnn grew up in Franklin Idaho. While attending Stevens Henager College, she met her husband Oscar R. Edwards. They were married on March 31, 1961. JoAnn traveled the world until Russ retired from the U. S. Army. They settled in Pocatello Idaho. Their union blessed them with 3 children, Russell Kevin (Cindy) Edwards, Teri Lynn (Steven) Johnson and Laura Eileen Edwards.

JoAnn enjoyed gardening, crocheting and being a member of the Pocatello Elks Club. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her 4 grandsons. Justin (Tiffany) Johnson, Sean (Amy) Johnson, Chris Edwards, and Cody (Alain) Edwards. JoAnn has 7 great grand children which she loved very much.

JoAnn was a dedicated employee of Bannock County where she was the Court Administrators Secretary for 25 years.  While working for Bannock County she made several friends and enjoyed keeping in contact with them through the years. JoAnn was a very kind and soft hearted person. When JoAnn was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis she became a true fighter. Through the years she stayed strong and never complained about her pain and kept enjoying life.

JoAnn is survived by her daughter Teri, her grandsons, Justin, Sean, Chris and Cody, her sister Kay, and brother Brent.  She is preceded in death by her parents, daughter Laura, her husband Russ and her son Kevin.

A viewing and memorial service will be held on February 11, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Manning-Wheatley Funeral Home with internment at RestLawn Memorial Gardens in Pocatello Idaho. JoAnn will be laid to rest beside her husband of 46 years.
