Joseph Lynn Ehrler

Joseph “Lynn” Ehrler passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, Wednesday, June 14 2017.
Born on July 3, 1945 to parents Mary Erma and Joseph Albert Ehrler in Salt Lake City Utah, he talked often of his life growing up with horses and good friends. He also courageously fought for and won sobriety in 1990.
He enjoyed a “yours, mine and ours” family life in two marriages; he accepted and loved his stepchildren as his own. He was grateful for a reunion with his grown children and grandchildren after a long separation.
A student of Dale Carnegie, Lynn left an impression on everyone he met. Employees from his workplaces, Kmart, Sears, CBI Security and Williams remembered him fondly and looked forward to chance encounters.
He had a passion for bodybuilding throughout his life. He loved guns and when he wasn’t suffering from back pain, he enjoyed shooting skeet with friends in Salt Lake City.
He is survived by sons; Scott Duke, Jeff Ehrler, Chad (Melanie) Ehrler and Joseph “Sy” (J. Allison) Ehrler; daughter Adryen Ehrler (Dan) Goldstein; Grandsons, Tyler and Nicolas Ehrler; Granddaughters Gabriel and Brittany Ehrler. He was greeted in death by his parents, brother Maxwell, best friend David Johnson and daughter Laurie Duke.
Celebration of Life for Lynn will be offered at the Red Butte Garden, sometime in July.
