Kerma Camelia Merrill Griffiths

Kerma Camelia Merrill Griffiths, 87, passed away on September 17, 2015 and returned to her Heavenly Father after a sudden illness.

Kerma was born in 1928 to Orrin and Nellie Merrill in Sacramento, California. She married Joseph John Griffiths on August 4, 1953 in the Idaho Falls Temple.

In her younger years, she enjoyed acting in plays, dancing, and spending time with her family in Lake Tahoe. She was called and served in the LDS British Mission. She retired as a Secretary working for the University of Idaho Extension Service. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She had a great love for the Oregon coast and would plan trips yearly to take her grown children, which left them with wonderful memories.

She was an amazing writer and wrote many shorts stories and novels. She had some of her short stories published. She enjoyed reading, puzzles, doing genealogy, and playing board games. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where she served in many callings. Kerma is survived by her husband, Joseph; her children Peggy (& Pete) Lawver, Tom (& Carol) Griffiths, LuAnn (& Brian) Hall, Nancy (& Kevin) Cornia. She has 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and her siblings; Keith, LaMarr, DeMar and Richard.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday September 22 at the LDS church on 3444 Hawthorne Road in Pocatello, Idaho. A viewing will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm with services to follow. The interment will be held at the Mountain View Cemetery.
