Pocatello-Lloyd K Bitton, 89, longtime resident of Pocatello, passed away peacefully early Monday, September 19, 2011 at his home. He was born July 9, 1922 in Riverside, Idaho (Southwest of Blackfoot) a son of Parley P. and Chloe Mae Killian Bitton.

When he was 4 years old, his family moved to Pocatello, where he attended schools and graduated from Pocatello High School. He worked at Peoples Market for several years as a sausage maker and later worked as a security guard at FMC for over 30 years retiring in 1988. He was a avid ISU Bengal fan. He also liked camping, hunting and teaching his children and grandchildren how to fish. He also participated in the Pocatello Mens Bowling League. He was a member of the Ambassador Men's Chorus. He enjoyed gardening and shared his harvest with his family, neighbors and friends.

On October 18, 1952, he married Ruth Stanger in American Falls, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple. He was a member of the L.D.S. Church. He had served as ward clerk in the 24th and 15th Wards in the Alameda Stake. He will be greatly missed by his loving family, friends and all who knew him.

Survivors include his loving wife of nearly 60 years, Ruth Bitton, Pocatello, Idaho; a son, Christopher (Jan) Bitton, Burley, Idaho; 2 daughters, Lori Cay Bitton, Pocatello, Idaho; Wendy Sue (Phil) Jones, Farr West, Utah; 5 grandchildren, Jamie Lee, Shannon Jo, Christopher Luke, Kevin C. and Danielle Nicole. 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Doyle, Glen Lamar and a sister Eva Vera.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Alameda 5th Ward Chapel (1440 Lakeview Drive) with Bishop Lynn Buckley officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment will be in the Mountainview Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel, 510 N. 12th Ave.
