Lucille A. MacKay

Lucille "Lu" Amanda MacKay (Ross) died peacefully on December 28, 2014 in Pocatello, Idaho. She was 86.

Lucille was born on May 14, 1928 in Worland , WY to her parents, Aurelius and Pauline Ross. Her family then moved to Idaho and lived in Shelly and Lincoln. She attended Ammon High School.

She married Alan Cameron MacKay (Cam) on September 1 in 1951. After Cam was released from the US Navy in June of 1954 they made there home in Pocatello, Idaho. The MacKay family welcomed three children Michael, Lisa and Matthew. Lu was a patient, kind mother and was proud of all three of her children.

Cam and Lu's favorite place to spend time with family and where they made many happy memories was their second home in Island park, where they eventually built a cabin in Elk Creek Estates.

Cam and Lu had a rare kind of love that lasted beyond their time together on Earth. It gives the family great peace knowing they have each other again.

Lucille was an active member of the LDS Church. She had great faith and love for her Father in Heaven and his Son and trusted them explicitly.

Lucille (Ross) MacKay is survived by her Son and daughter-in-law, Matt (Amy) MacKay of Toquerville, UT and her great-grandchildren Rylee, Lucy, Charley and Finnegan; her Granddaughter Amanda (Todd) Larson of McCammon, ID and her great grandchildren Cash, Rye and Macey, Granddaughter Katie (Jared) Wixom of Montpelier and her great-grandchildren Alexis and Chase; Two Sister-in-laws Dorothy MacKay of St Anthony and Ione MacKay McBride of Cordova, TN. Special thank you to Amanda Larson for the loving care she gave her Grandma in her final weeks, and to John and Karyn MacKay for always caring for and visiting Lu as well as taking her on outings during her time at Quail Ridge.
