Marty Riedle

Marty Riedle, 76, of Pocatello, passed away unexpectedly on August 7, 2026, at Portneuf Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family.

Marty was born February 14, 1950 in Anthony, TX to Candelario and Dora Beltran. She was the middle child between older sister, Gloria and baby brother, David. Marty graduated from Colton High School in 1968 and quickly hit the ground running in this race we call life. In a few short years she played semi-professional softball, earned her certificate from secretarial school and met and married the love of her life, George.

Marty and George made their home in many places while George was in the Army. They welcomed their oldest daughter, Shyrene, in California. Two years later they welcomed their son, George, in Germany. Then, after settling in Pocatello they welcomed their youngest daughter, Heather.

Marty held many jobs over the years. Her career at the INL fulfilled much of her working years. After retirement, Marty needed something to do. She found great joy in working at the Senior Activity Center. She had a passion for taking care of others and she met some of her very best friends while serving the community. As a family, we cannot thank the staff and patrons enough for letting mom be part of something so wonderful.

Marty had many passions over the years, her family being her greatest. She loved watching her grandkids play sports. She was a lover of the holidays, which always seemed right since she was born on Valentine’s Day. She would spend countless hours decorating her home for the holidays and her children and grandchildren will never forget how special that was. She loved house plants and candles and spending hours watching Hallmark movies. We will all miss visiting Grandma “Smarty.”

Marty is survived by her children, Shyrene and Casey Thompson of Pocatello, George and Amber Riedle of Idaho Falls and Heather and Nathan Allred of Boise; her grandchildren, Tristan, Ryc, Ethan, Brynlee, Treygan, Kaiden and Nyla; as well as 5 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Gloria, her brother, David and their families. She is welcomed home by her husband, George and her parents.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026 at the Senior Activity Center in Pocatello, 427 North 6th Avenue, from 1-3pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Pocatello Senior Activity Center in Marty’s memory.
