Patricia Farnsworth Bean

Patricia Farnsworth Bean, 95, died Wednesday afternoon, May 20, 2015 in her bed in her own home.

She was born 9 February 1920 in St.Anthony, Fremont, Idaho, the fifth child and fourth daughter of Samuel Dennis and Elizabeth Regina (Watson) Farnsworth.

She was educated in St.Anthony schools and graduated from high school there. She attended nursing school in Salt Lake City until her appendix ruptured and she dropped out to recuperate.

She married Max Maurice Bean on 22 December 1939 in Idaho Falls, Bonneville, Idaho. He was a well known contractor and traveled extensively building LDS churches and remodels on the Hawaiian Temple. She and their children traveled with him to the various jobs until they built a home in Pocatello in 1956. They were able to stay there until about 1969 and then resumed the construction circuit for the LDS Church. They more or less retired in Anchorage, Alaska. Max passed away 8 June 1995 in Sandy, Utah.

She was an active member of the LDS Church and appreciated the members & friends in the 26th Ward. Through all their travels, she insisted they keep that home so that she could move back after retirement. She has been busy and happy since 1996 remodeling the house and landscaping her acre. She also enjoyed activity in the DUP organization. Monthly meetings/luncheons have been held in her home for several years.

Survivors include four daughters and three sons: Bonnie Kudla and BethAnn (Marlo) Millard, both of whom have lived with and cared for her in her Pocatello home the past few years; Billie (Ted) Bollwinkel, Mesa AZ; Beverly Bean, and Brian (Lindy) Bean, both of Firth ID; Bruce (Carma) Bean, Washington D.C.; and Barry (Sue) Bean, Layton UT; thirty-one grandchildren and about 74 great-grandchildren; two younger sisters, Margaret McIntosh 93, Boise ID, and Alice Hennessey 91, Pocatello ID; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Jerry Fern Bean Powell, Salt Lake City UT.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at 11:00 a.m in the 26th Ward LDS chapel, 3444 Hawthorne Road, Pocatello. Viewing for friends & family will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Teton-Newdale Cemetery in Teton, Madison, Idaho where she will rest next to Max.
