Pocatello - Patrick "Mike" McCoy, 66, passed away Monday December 12, 2011 in the hospital, surrounded by his family.

Mike was born in Kellogg, Idaho on May 14, 1945 to Milton and Delia Parsons McCoy. He grew up in Osburn, Idaho and graduated from Wallace High School in 1965, after which he served as an active duty soldier in Vietnam.

After returning home from Vietnam, Mike married Nancy Ann Millner in 1970. They had two children before divorcing, but remained close friends throughout their lives. In 1990, Mike married Claudia Whitehead. He was a loving husband and a devoted father.

He loved all kinds of sports, having a particular affinity for football. His all-time favorite team was Notre Dame and he had an incredible collection of team apparel. Mike was very active and was an avid golfer in addition to enjoying other outdoor sports, games and activities. He loved working in his yard and spending time with his 6 children and his 8 grandchildren.

His parents and twin sister Patricia Ann McCoy preceded Mike in death. His wife Claudia, his sons Sean, Bracken and Matt, his daughters Molly, Emily and Lenore, and his brothers Mick, Frank, and Doug survive him.

A memorial celebration for friends and family will be held Saturday, December 17, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Idaho State University LDS Stake Center, 1701 Bartz Way, adjacent to the Stephens Performing Arts Center.
