Richard Milton Henry, 68, passed away Friday, July 12, 2013 after a long courageous battle with cancer.

He was born August 17, 1944 in Pocatello, Idaho, the fourth child and only son of Irene Nona Butcher and Arthur Melvin Henry. Having lost his father at a very young age, Richard was raised by his mother, grandmother Butcher and two sisters.

After high school, he joined the United States Air Force for four years, returning to Pocatello and marrying his high school sweetheart Leslie Taylor. Together they raised a son Rick Henry and a daughter Katie Henry Christian.

Richard loved baseball. He played ball in high school as well as on American Legion teams. He even had the privilege of coaching his own son. Music was his passion. He sang and played the guitar in several local bands.

Richard's spare time was spent making guitars and playing music which he loved doing. His only greater love was his children, grandchildren, and wife, Leslie, of 46 years.

Richard worked as a Journeyman motor winder at Dykes Electric for many years and also as a Journeyman electrician with the IBEW.

He is survived by his wife, Leslie of Pocatello; son, Rick (Kristine) Henry, St. Anthony, Idaho; daughter, Katie Christian, Pocatello; four grandchildren, Taylor Henry, Samantha Christian, Jake Henry, and Jenna Henry; two sisters, Louise Wagner, Nampa, California; Leila Parkinson, Visalia, California; two uncles, Lionel Bowser; Dave Bowser; one aunt, Donna Butcher; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Art and Irene Henry; sister, Doreatha Henry.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 20, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cedar L.D.S. Chapel (550 W. Cedar.) The family will meet with friends Friday evening July 19, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel, 510 N. 12th Ave. and on Saturday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.

Interment will be in the Robin Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel.
