Ruth Marie Green

Pocatello-Ruth Marie Green, 76, passed away Sunday, October 21, 2012 at 4:17 p.m. She was born June 5, 1936 in Logan, Utah. She moved to Pocatello in 1942.

She attended schools in Pocatello and graduated from Pocatello High School in 1954.

She married Delbert A. "Joe" Green, August 25, 1954 in the Idaho Falls Temple.

She was a life-long faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and worked in Primary,Young Womens, the Stake Relief Society and served a mission with her husband to the Fort Hall Branch. She also worked in the family extraction program.

She was employed by Soft Water Service in Pocatello for twenty three years and she worked in the family business for fifteen years.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Lyma C. Garritson, her step father, Byron D. Garritson, by daughters Denise (Kelley) Hemsley and Linda (Scott) Barnes and by two grandchildren, Sarah Hemsley and Braxton Moore.

She is survived by her husband, Delbert A. "Joe" Green; 2 daughters, Janet Hyde, Lehi, Utah; Tammy (Tracy)Moore, Pocatello; a son, Gary A. (Mary) Green, Layton Utah; two son-in-laws, Scott (Teressa)Barnes, and Kelly (Denise) Hemsley; 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

She enjoyed being with her family, working in Church callings and gardening. She was loved by many, especially her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who anyone could turn to. Her children will always remember her as selfless, kind and making the best of any situation. Her grandchildren remember her stories, blanket beds, and her cozy lap. She had great faith and was an example to those around her.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the Highland 3rd Ward Chapel (Butte and Hiskey.) with Bishop Ted Schow officiating.

Her family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening, October 23, 2012 at the Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel, 510 North 12th Ave. Pocatello, Idaho. and on Wednesday from 12:00 noon to 12:45 p.m. at the church prior to services. Interment will follow at the Mountain View Cemetery.

Funeral arrangments are under the care of Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel.
