Inkom- On Friday, December 27, 2013, our dad, grandfather, great grandfather, Samuel D. Chandler was reunited with mom in eternal happiness. After missing mom for several months, Heavenly Father called him home.

Sam age 84, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones. Dad, you will never be lonely for mom or in pain again. Give mom a kiss for us. We all love you.

Sam was born December 4, 1929, in Inkom, Idaho, the son of James Victor and Agnes Lavera Davids Chandler. He attended schools in Inkom and graduated from Inkom High School.

He married Beatrice P. Phillips on Nov. 24, 1954 in Pocatello, Idaho. Their marriage was later sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple.

Sam was a U.S. Army Korean War Veteran. He worked at Ash Grove Cement Plant for 35 years.

Sam along with Beatrice were active members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- Day Saints. They served in the Idaho Falls Temple for 17 years. Sam also served as High Priest Group Leader, Gospel Doctrine Teacher and Cub Scout Leader.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working around the yard and visiting his many friends and family.

Sam is survived by his children; Steven (Myla) Chandler, Laurel, Maryland; Pam (Darwin) Liljenquist, Pocatello, Idaho; Sammy (Ken) Johnson, Inkom, Idaho; Joe Chandler, Inkom, Idaho; William (Cheryl) Chandler, Billings, Montana; 2 brothers, George (LaRene) Chandler, Inkom, Idaho; Seren (Peggy) Chandler, Inkom, Idaho; 5 sisters, Denise White, Bancroft, Idaho; Anora Woods, Pocatello, Idaho; Marie Moser, Inkom, Idaho; Pril Hale, Pocatello, Idaho; Beatrice Shaffer, Inkom, Idaho; 18 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Along with numerous loved ones he took in. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Beatrice, a son, Edward, his parents, 1 brother and 3 sisters.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 2, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Inkom Skyline Chapel (150 Snow Peal Blvd.) with Bishop Ernie Moser, of the Rapid Creek Ward officiating.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment will be in the Inkom Cemetery with Military Rites provided by the Pocatello Veterans Honor Guard.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel, 510 N. 12th Ave.
