Shannon Bosworth Hurst

Shannon Bosworth Hurst passed away after a sudden illness on Monday, September 28, 2026 in Pocatello, Idaho, surrounded by family. Shannon was born on November 7, 1951 in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Ardella (Kirkbride) and Purser Bosworth. After going to college for a short time, she met a dashing young man who swept her off her feet. After marrying Tom in the Logan, Utah temple on October 11, 1972, they had 4 beautiful children: Tyler, Marcus, Ryan, and Elizabeth.

Shannon was a teacher, both to her own children and to countless others as a school librarian for the school district in Middleton, Idaho. She lived in Middleton with her husband, Tom, for nearly 50 years. After moving to Pocatello to be closer to most of their grandchildren, Tom and Shannon settled in Chubbuck. She enjoyed attending sporting events and performances her grandchildren were in, spending time with family, and participating in church activities. Her faith was a central part of her life, and she exemplified this as she lived her life. She was an incredibly kind, loving, and Christ-like person.

Shannon leaves behind her husband, their four children and their spouses (Anna, Melissa, Jeni, and Morgan), and their 20 grandchildren (plus 6 in-laws), and 6 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Monday, October 5th, 2026 at 11 am. There will be a viewing on Sunday evening from 6-8 pm, and Monday morning from 10-10:45 am. All services at her church building: 1700 Kinghorn Rd Pocatello, ID 83201
