Sherman Bright Boyce

Sherman Bright Boyce, 84, passed away November 30, 2016. He was a resident of Pocatello for the last 36 years. Born July 10, 1932 in the old family home in Sandy, Utah, he was the third child of six, born to Norean Bright Boyce and Paul C. Boyce.

Sherm served in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He graduated in Forestry from Utah State University. There he met and married Nancy Berntson in 1957. Married for 59 years, they are the parents of 5 children. They have 18 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

His career was spent with the US Forest Service in Nevada, Utah, Louisiana, and Idaho. He loved his work and especially how it allowed him to enjoy the beauties of nature. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was faithful and hardworking and loved to serve.  His favorite times of service were on three missions with his sweetheart to Singapore, Sri Lanka and the Marshall Islands

He is survived by his wife Nancy and his children; Paul Boyce, of Kent, England; Scott (Teresa) Boyce, of Pleasant Grove, Utah; Jan (Randy) Thomas, of Pocatello, Idaho; Kim (Kim) Jorgensen, of Pocatello, Idaho and Carrie (Kevin) Allen of Frisco, Colorado. He is also survived by his brother and four sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday December 5, 2016 at the Highland 12th Ward building located at 2140 Satterfield Drive, Pocatello, Idaho. Visitation with the family will be held from 9-10:30 prior to the service. Internment will be at 2:30 p.m. at the Logan City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, our Dad has asked families to pack a picnic in the spring and head to the mountains to enjoy God’s beautiful creations.
