ShyAnn Marie Matkin

ShyAnn Marie Matkin was born July 2, 1983 in Pocatello, Idaho to Kim Matkin and LaNette Shipley. Our beautiful ShyAnn Marie returned home to her Savior in Heaven, December 6th, 2015. “and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” Philippians 4:7. ShyAnn attended schools in Pocatello, Rupert/Burley and graduated from Capital High School in Santa Fe in 2001. She also attended Lubbuck Christian University. She was active in dance, clogging and rodeo. She traveled for two years with the Young Continentals Christian Singers. After high school, she moved to Florida to work at Disneyworld. She fell in love with Florida. During her time there, she worked at Macaroni Grill, US Bank and Mimi’s Café. She recently moved to Colorado to be closer to family. ShyAnn had a deep love and passion for God and music. Her faith through many trials never wavered. She was an accomplished singer, songwriter and released her own music video “Fallen Angel” in 2013. She is survived by her beloved dog “Angel”; Father Kim (Kym) Matkin, Mother LaNette (Ron) Shipley; her sisters Shauna Sotelo and Andrea Matkin; brothers Timothy Matkin and Aaron Shipley; Grandparents Arnie & Lurlene Haag, Tessie Lords and Steve and Gale Livingston. She was adored by her nieces Shanese and Marissa Sotelo and nephews Sammy and Isaiah Sotelo as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Her laughter and beautiful soul will be missed. Her spirit will live in our hearts until we meet again. She was preceded in death by her Grandpa Dennis Lords, Grandpa Andrew Matkin, Grandmother Iris Glover; Uncles Kenny and Darren Lords; Uncles Randy, Jay, Kayle, and Doyle Matkin; Aunts Andrea Phelps and Pat Matkin; nephew Bryan Sotelo and cousins Curt and Amber Matkin; with many other family members to welcome her. Viewing will be held Friday, December 11 at Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel 510 N. 12th from 6-8pm. Funeral will be 1:00 Saturday, December 12 at the First United Methodist Church 200 N. 15th Ave. Pocatello, ID.
